The Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education met briefly in special session Tuesday, July 23 to approve several employment matters, including hiring a new principal, ahead of the first day of school for staff Aug. 7.

The Hillsboro Records Commission will meet Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. at 130 North High Street, Hillsboro.

The Hillsboro Parks Committee will meet Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall, located at 130 North High Street, Hillsboro.

The Hillsboro Street & Safety Committee will meet Monday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. at city hall, located at 130 North High Street, Hillsboro 45133.

The Hillsboro Finance Committee will meet Monday, July 29 at 3 p.m. at city hall, located at 130 North High Street, Hillsboro.

On July 17, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter held our annual summer meeting. This was the first meeting held by our 2024-25 Officer team with five newly elected officers.

A well-received vintage bridal exhibit at the Highland House Museum has been extended through Aug. 31 and will conclude with a second historical wedding recreation.

On June 10, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter was able to volunteer their time at the well-loved Shaffer Park.

The Highland County Land Reutilization Corporation (land bank) board held a lengthy bid opening for the demolition of nearly 40 properties across the county Thursday, July 18, as they continue to await the release of guidance on state funding.

On May 29-30, the 2024-2025 Hillsboro FFA Officer Team spent time team bonding and planning for the year ahead.
