Hillsboro Legion baseball will be back for the 2025 season, according to a press release from the City of Hillsboro. Tryouts will take place Saturday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. at Shaffer Park on the Legion Field.

“We are pleased to announce that Brad Miller has been appointed as the new head coach for the Hillsboro Legion team,” Parks and Recreation Director Caleb Gregory said. “We are grateful for his commitment to leading the team this upcoming season. Coach Miller brings a wealth of experience and passion for the game, and we are confident he will be a great asset to our program.”

Additional information and updates will be provided throughout the season.

As previously reported by Highland County Press sports editor Stephen Forsha, the Post 129 American Legion team was on hiatus for the 2024 summer season.

Not having coaches available to coach the team on a day-to-day basis was the main reason for not having a schedule this summer, as confirmed by Scott Morgan, the general manager of the program and past head coach for the summer team.

Post 129 baseball is a senior league team for 19-year-olds and under, and in their 2023 season Hillsboro also had a junior league team. They are a member of the South Central Ohio League.
