The Highland County Chamber of Commerce March Business After Hours will feature a Mini Business Expo on Thursday, March 18from 5-7 p.m. at the Highland County Family YMCA in Hillsboro.
The Waynoka Water Sports Club will be sponsoring an Ohio Boating Education Course at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 27 at the Lodge. Cost of this course is $5 payable to ODNR Watercraft. This course will consist of 8 hours of instruction in a certified class followed by an exam. This year everybody younger than 28 years of age needs to pass a test certified by the state before they can drive any type of boat powered by more than 10 HP.
A celebration of the opening of the new station for Hillsboro Fire and Rescue will be held Saturday, March 13 at the new station located at 204 North East Street from 1-4 p.m. The Highland County Press was given a preview tour of the building this week, which can be viewed in the accompanying news video, along with one-on-one discussions with firefighters.
Wilmington College’s observance of Women’s History Month will conclude with a presentation by acclaimed literary scholar Beverly Wilson Palmer March 30, at 7 p.m. in the T. Canby Jones Meetinghouse at WC’s Meriam R. Hare Quaker Heritage Center.
