Niehaus sworn in as Ohio Senate president

Longtime Ohio newspaperman Tom Niehaus of New Richmond was sworn in Monday, Jan. 3 as president of the Ohio Senate. Senator Niehaus represents the 14th Senate District of Ohio, including Adams, Brown, Clermont, Scioto and a portion of Lawrence County.

The North Adams Green Devils fell to the Manchester Greyhounds, 87-49, Thursday, Dec. 30 in the annual McDonald's Holiday Classic. Travis Combs led Manchester with 30 points, including five 3-pointers.

Highland County, Lynchburg receive community improvement funds from ODNR

Representing four different areas of government, four officials took their oaths of office Thursday night at the Hi-TEC Center in Hillsboro, to represent Highland County constituents.
 Republicans Jeremy Shaffer, Highland County Commissioner; Cliff Rosenberger, Ohio's 86th House District Representative; David Daniels, Ohio's 17th District Senator; and Bill Fawley, Highland County Auditor, were each elected during the Nov. 2 general election.

The Highland County Common Pleas Court will soon be launching a website with the hope it will increase courtroom transparency, while making better use of court employees' time, which in turn could end up saving the county some dollars.
