Phyllis I. Masters, 85, of Bainbridge, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.

SSCC board member Paul Hall reported on behalf of the finance committee to the college board of trustees during their meeting Wednesday, March 9 at SSCC’s Fayette Campus that, “There will be a tuition increase. We know that. It will probably be less than most (other colleges). We will have a recommendation at the April board meeting. We need to get this out there so people know it’s coming.”

David Wesley Pence, 66, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
 He was born Sept. 12, 1944 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Wesley Ralph and Sarah Rogers Pence.
 Pence had practiced law in Hillsboro for 37 years, starting a partnership with his father, W. Ralph Pence.

The Greenfield Police Department executed two search warrants last week, resulting the seizing of suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
 One man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and additional charges are pending against other individuals.

In the playoff game, Rogan took the very first play from scrimmage 55 yards straight through the middle of the WCH defense. The score was 8-0 almost before the Blue Lions got warmed up.
