The Highland County Victim/Witness Program held the a candlelight vigil for victims of crime Tuesday in front of the Highland County Courthouse in commemoration of National Crime Victims' Rights Week. The second annual event honored and remembered the victims of crime in Highland County, with the theme of "Reshaping the future, honoring the past."
The American Legion Golf Outing will be held Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at the Hillsboro Elks at 8 a.m. Tee times can be accommodated. The cost is $200 per team and $50 for hole sponsors. There will be prizes and food.

Residents living in and around the Hillsboro area can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. Northview Baptist Church, located at 1139 Northview Drive, Hillsboro, will host Life Line Screening on May 18.
