The Highland County J.U.M.P. (Just Us Making Progress) group recently held a karaoke/spaghetti dinner and dance to help raise funds for camp. The event was held at Hills and Dales Training Center.
One of two Ohio suspects charged with conspiracy for allegedly making online threats has pleaded not guilty. As previously reported, Waterland, 24, and Brett Hudson, 26, of Hillsboro, are facing charges in the case.

Heather Gibson said the local Help Me Grow Program has been asked to take over home visits in Clinton County for up to 25 families. The program provides in-home care for first-time mothers, children in situations with abuse or neglect, and military families.
The Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District board has voted to place a substation for Liberty Township in the former Hillsboro city building and longtime fire station. The former Hillsboro city building is owned by Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings, according to the latest tax reports on file at the Highland County Auditor's Office.
The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District Board of Trustees is considering three locations for its Liberty Township substation. The board has received information on a West Main Street property in Hillsboro, the former Hillsboro city building on Governor Trimble Place and North High Street and the former Chuck Wait Tire location on U.S. 62 south.
Due to an increase in thefts and vandalism of privately owned boats docked at Rocky Fork State Park, officials are working to establish a new program of increased security.
