Hillsboro High School’s November students of the month are as follows:

• Math Department: Hannah Lynch. Her teacher says, “Hannah is a senior that did not enroll with us until September of this year. She has done a fantastic job of getting up to speed with our classroom routines and norms while excelling with the content. She is an excellent asset in the classroom, always providing input and ideas that push the topic of the day forward. I very much appreciate her hard work and dedication. Thanks, Hannah.”

• English Department: William Moore-Wood. His teacher says, “William is a hard-working student who stepped up, challenged himself academically and has excelled. William is very respectful and willing to engage in discussion. He works hard and has a great sense of humor.”

• Science Department: Alex Wilson. His teacher says, “Alex Wilson currently has the highest grade point average in Honors Biology and has no missing assignments. I appreciate the effort he has put in and know that, if he chooses, he could have a bright future in any career in the sciences. Keep up the good work, Alex.”

• Social Studies Department: Lukhas Holbert. His teacher says, “Lukhas is a lot of fun to have in class and a very genuine person. He participates often. Lukhas does a great job paying attention to the lectures and engaging in the topics discussed.”

• Electives Department (Spanish): Rylie Ison. Her teacher says, “Rylie works very hard each day to improve her speaking, writing, listening and reading skills in Spanish class. She’s constantly asking questions to learn more, and she always has a positive attitude.”

• Intervention Department: Preston Mercado. His teacher says, “Preston works very hard and has made a lot of progress this year.”

• Ag/Industrial Arts Department: Zah’Nicia Burns. Her teacher says, “Zah’Nicia is a very respectful and helpful student in class. She is always willing to help take care of our animals, water our greenhouse and is excited to participate in our FFA events. The best thing about Zah’Nicia is that she greets each day with a smile.”

• Student Services Department: Jay Reno. His teacher says, “Jay is helpful to other students in their time of need. He changed another student’s tire in the school parking lot instead of leaving them stranded.”

Special thanks goes to Alley 21 and Highland Lanes for sponsoring our November students of the month.
