Hillsboro 3rd, McClain 4th in FAC No. 6 girls golf meet; Lady Tigers defeat Fairfield

The Hillsboro Lady Indians and McClain Lady Tigers competed in the sixth round of the 2023 Frontier Athletic Conference matches on Monday at the Greene in Washington C.H.

Jackson won the event with a score of 221, followed by Miami Trace at 229.

Hillsboro and McClain each scored 237, but HHS won the tiebreaker as the tiebreaker went to the sixth score on the scorecard.

In fifth was Washington at 245, and in sixth was Chillicothe with no team score.

Hillsboro results included: Emma Yochum (52), Amani Cumberland (56), Reagan Leeth (64), Addy Knauff (65), Halle Jones (66) and Grace Watson (68).

For McClain, scores included: Kaylin Sterling (54), Jacolyn Bolender (59), Abbie Lovett (60), Avery Murphy (64), Reese Roble (66) and Kallie Posey (69).

In another event on Monday (Sept. 11) at Buckeye Hills, a second McClain girls golf team defeated Fairfield, 250-256 in non-conference play.

For McClain, scores included: Hailey Cornett (58), Riley Perkins (62), Temperance Beavers (65), Audrey Chamblin (65), Maguire Ross (69) and Kate Barrett (70).

For Fairfield, scores included: Makayla Brown (60), Emmy Caudill (65), Ayla Humphreys (65) and Allie Pavey (66).
