Based on a recommendation by labor consultant Bob Cross, the Highland County Board of Commissioners have voted to accept a contract proposal for collective bargaining unit employees at the Highland County Sheriff's Office.

Ohio's 17th District Sen. Bob Peterson visited the Highland County Board of Commissioners during the April 4 board meeting. The senator, who replaced former Sen. David Daniels of Greenfield, said he was touching base with officials in parts of the 17th Senate District.

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today established a procedural schedule to consider AEP-Ohio’s modified electric security plan (ESP) application. The proceedings will allow AEP-Ohio, PUCO staff, the public and other stakeholders to present testimony regarding the utility’s rate proposal.

On March 29, Tommy Myers of Hillsboro, driving a 2008 Chevrolet, was backing from in front of Flagway and struck a 2006 Chrysler driven by Odessia Lewis of Hillsboro that was driving through the lot. Both vehicles received light damage.

AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), will file a modified Electric Security Plan (ESP) for the period of June 2012 through May 2015 with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) later today. The plan, as proposed, addresses rate increase concerns affecting certain AEP Ohio customers and provides a reasonable transition to full retail competition in Ohio.
