Emergency crews were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on S.R. 134 just south of the Highland County/Clinton County border Thursday, Dec. 13.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., a vehicle traveling southbound on S.R. 134 apparently lost control, striking a utility pole on the northbound side of the roadway. The vehicle continued to travel approximately 50 yards, where it came to rest in the ditch.

The lone female occupant of the vehicle was transported by the Lynchburg Area Joint Fire and Ambulance District. The woman's identity and condition were not immediately released.

The cause of the accident was not reported; however, witnesses to the accident believed the driver may have suffered from a possible medical condition which may have contributed to the accident.

Responding to the scene with the Lynchburg Area Joint Fire and Ambulance District was the Highland County Sheriff's Office.
