Scioto County Sheriff's Office, Press Release

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman stated that on Wednesday, March 19 at approximately 3:14 a.m. the 911 Communication Center received a call from Southern Ohio Medical Center stating that they had two victims show up at the hospital with stab wounds.

A deputy responded to the hospital to obtain information and requested a detective, who responded to SOMC. One victim was transported by air to an out-of-town hospital, and the other victim was treated and released by Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Several witnesses were located and questioned. The investigation revealed that the alleged stabbing incident took place on Shepherd Fork Road in West Portsmouth. Both deputies and detectives responded to this location and obtained a search warrant to process the crime scene. As a result of the investigation, one male was detained for further investigation.

Arrested was Kevin E. Pack, 51, of West Portsmouth. Pack has been charged with attempted murder, a felony of the first degree, and two counts of felonious assault, a felony of the second degree.

This is still an ongoing investigation that may result in more charges being presented to the Scioto County grand jury on a later date. Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Jodi Conkel at (740) 351-1091.
