Waverly man in custody after chase from Fayette County

A 19-year-old Waverly man is in custody after a multi-county pursuit early Thursday morning.

According to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward, Keaton Fury, 19, of Waverly, is in custody at the Highland County Justice Center, awaiting charges by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Ward said Fury led officers from several agencies from Fayette County into Highland County before ditching his car at state Route 128 and Careytown Road. 

A pursuit on foot ensued, with Fury being taken into custody in approximately 45 minutes.

"We assisted the Ohio Highway Patrol Wilmington Post," Ward said. "I am not certain on the charges that may be filed."

According to the Highland County Sheriff's Department, Fury has been charged with receiving stolen property, a felony of the fifth degree.

Bail has been set at $2,500.

There was suspicion that Fury was in a stolen vehicle. 

No injuries were reported in the incident.
