Waverly man charged following reported high-speed pursuit
On Saturday, March 15 at approximately 10 p.m., the Jackson Police Department and Ohio State Highway Patrol were involved in a high-speed pursuit entering Pike County on state Route 32. Pike County Deputy Gullett also responded and joined the pursuit.
The pursuit originated in the city of Jackson, and the suspects were being pursued by the Jackson Police Department for an alleged theft at the time of the incident. The pursuit turned on Coal Dock Road and ended in Beaver. No injuries or property damage were reported.
The suspects, identified as Troy Fleckinger, 56, of Waverly, and Mike Osborne, 47, of Waverly, were both apprehended and taken into custody afire a small foot chase.
The suspect vehicle was allegedly identified to contain stolen merchandise from a Jackson business.
Fleckinger was arrested on theft, obstructing official business and fleeing/eluding charges. Osborne was later released.
