On Jan. 28 at 12:12 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of subjects shoplifting from Walmart.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that Vanessa Nicole Carter, 23, and Cecil R. Carter, 48, had attempted to remove two shopping carts full of items worth $748 from the store without paying for the items.

When Vanessa Carter was confronted by store loss control after she had pushed a shopping cart full of items from the store, she ran to a vehicle and fled the scene in the vehicle.
