Suspect identified, charged in Holland Circle burglary

On Dec. 10 at 5:32 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department took a report of a residential burglary on Holland Circle.
The suspect ran from the scene prior to officers from both the Hillsboro Police Department and the Highland County Sheriff's Department arriving on the scene. There were several items stolen from the attached garage and also from an unattached shed.[[In-content Ad]]A joint investigation by both departments led officers to a North West St. address on Dec. 11, where Richard William Davis, 32, of Hillsboro, was found asleep in the residence with much of the stolen property in his general vicinity.
Davis has been charged with both burglary, a second-degree felony, and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. He has been booked in the Highland County Justice Center, and further charges may be brought against him upon review of the Highland County Prosecutor.
