On May 1-2, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter attended the 86th Ohio FFA State Convention. During the State Convention, Honorary Degrees were awarded to those who qualified for the State Honorary Degree.
Among the recipients were Rick and Connie Williams of Rick Williams Auction Company of Hillsboro.
Individuals nominated must have provided exceptional (outstanding) service to agriculture and/or the agricultural education/FFA program. The purpose of the degree program is to recognize individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the agricultural education-FFA program.
The Honorary State FFA Degree is the second-highest Honorary Degree, and it is presented by the Ohio FFA Association at the annual State FFA Convention.
Rick Williams is the owner of Rick Williams Auction Company. Rick Williams Auction Company is proud to be a sponsor of the Hillsboro FFA program.
Each year, many alumni members donate their time and services to conduct the annual consignment auction sponsored by the FFA Alumni. This auction benefits the scholarship program which gives money to an FFA member who furthers their education or starts an ag-related business.
Rick Williams was a member of the Hillsboro FFA Chapter. He received his chapter degree and participated in a variety of activities during high school.
The Rick Williams Auction Company is a proud sponsor of this program and believes that the FFA program is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about agriculture, business, and develop leadership skills.
The winter of 2014 marks the 17th year the Hillsboro FFA Alumni has conducted its annual consignment auction. Over the 17 years, the consignment auctions have provided more than $137,000 to the scholarship fund.
The Hillsboro FFA appreciates Rick and Connie for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to the Rick Williams Auction Company.
