State Representative Doug Green (R-Mt. Orab) has honored Georgetown Fire and Emergency Medical Services on receiving the Volunteer Fire Department of the Year Award with a House resolution.

He represents the 66th District, which includes all of Brown County, as well as southeastern Clermont County.

“I can’t express how important these men and women’s roles are in the community,” said Representative Green. “They have chosen to protect their neighbors and their community while exemplifying the virtue of volunteerism by displaying compassion for the community in which they live. This strengthens the fabric of society and provides additional role models in their neighborhoods.”

Representative Green presented the group with a resolution on the House floor on Wednesday, December 17th during the last scheduled session of the 130th General Assembly.

House Resolution No. 504 praised the department’s professional ethics, positive work attitude, and cooperation with the public, as well as their outstanding courage and initiative in the performance of their duties.

Georgetown Fire and Emergency Medical Services received the Volunteer Fire Department of the Year Award from the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Medical Services last year.
