Police called to commissioners' office

The Hillsboro Police Department responded to the Highland County Commissioners' Office Monday morning, after Commissioner Tom Horst reported "a disturbance."

Hillsboro Police Officer Tim Bell said that when Horst called for police assistance, the dispatcher could "hear some yelling" in the background.

Two Highland County residents reportedly were asking commissioners for public information when some tempers allegedly flared.

Bell said upon his arrival, "There was no commotion or anything. Everyone was civil."

Bell said he spoke with those present. No arrests were made and no warnings were issued.

When asked to comment, Commission President Shane Wilkin said he was out of town and not aware of the incident.
