A suspect in the reported robbery of a Jackson County Amish teen has been captured. The suspect was apprehended in Pike County late Friday night.

A tip from a citizen led Jackson County Sheriff Tedd E. Frazier’s deputies to the Beaver area in Pike County.

Working with the assistance of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Deputies were able to take the suspect, now identified as 30-year-old Jason Daniel Holloway of Beaver, into custody. The suspect truck was also located during the investigation in West Portsmouth.

Halloway is accused of stopping a 16-year-old Amish teen on Cove Road at gunpoint on Thursday, April 11, as the teen was traveling with his horse and cart. Holloway then allegedly demanded the teen hand over his wallet and fled.

The teen reported that he was in his cart with his horse going down the road at about 4:30 p.m., when a black truck with tinted windows pulled up beside him and pointed a black firearm at him. The teen stated that the suspect wanted his money. The teen complied with the suspect and gave him his wallet containing cash. The suspect then traveled on Cove Road toward Beaver Pike.

Holloway is currently booked into the Jackson County Jail, charged with one count of robbery. He may face additional charges pending the review of Jackson County Prosecutor Randy Dupree.
