Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run accident

A pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car on Wednesday night around 9 p.m. on West Main Street in Hillsboro.
According to Officer Fred Hampton of the Hillsboro Police Department, the victim was crossing at a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle, which left the scene without stopping.

The vehicle was described as a Ford F150 or F250 pickup truck and is believed to be gold.
The victim, who was alert and communicating with law enforcement and medical personnel, was transported to Highland District Hospital for treatment.
Officers Hampton and Kelly of the Hillsboro Police Department, along with the Hillsboro Fire Department, responded to the accident.
