A Hillsboro man is in custody facing charges of manufacturing methamphetamines after a Tuesday morning investigation by local law enforcement.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office and the Hillsboro Police Department responded to an apartment complex in the 900 block of South High Street Tuesday morning.

Ingredients used in the illegal manufacturing of meth were removed from one apartment unit.

Jonathan S. Dixon, 25, was taken to the Highland County Justice Center.

Several people were located at the residence, including Dixon, who is charged with a third-degree felony for the illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacturing of drugs.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hillsboro Police Department. Additional charges are possible, the HPD said. The case will be presented to Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins.
