Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor to swear in Judge Rocky Coss

Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor will administer the oath of office to Highland County Common Pleas Judge Rocky A. Coss on Thursday, Feb. 5 in the Common Pleas Courtroom.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Highland County Probate-Juvenile Judge Kevin L. Greer will preside and introduce the Chief Justice.

Justice O’Connor was first elected to the Supreme Court as an Associate Justice in 2002 and was re-elected in 2008. In 2010, she became the first woman to be elected Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.

Prior to serving on the Court, she served as a Common Pleas Judge and the Prosecuting Attorney of Summit County. She was elected as Lt. Governor of Ohio in 1998.

Judge Coss was re-elected to a second six-year term in November of 2014. The new term begins Feb. 9.

The ceremony is open to the public.
