Ohio State Highway Patrol releases OVI checkpoint results from Middletown

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Middletown Police Department, the Butler County OVI Task Force and the Ohio Department of Transportation, conducted an OVI checkpoint June 21 from 9 p.m. to midnight on Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Middletown in Butler County.

A total of 498 vehicle were checked, with eight vehicles being diverted for suspicion of OVI. No drivers were determined to be under the influence or arrested for OVI.

In addition to the actual checkpoint officers, additional officers from participating agencies conducted saturation patrols in the area. Saturation patrols yielded 12 traffic stops, with three citations issued and no arrests for OVI.

Federal grant money supported the OVI checkpoint and saturation patrols.
