Ohio Inspector General issues report on hiring practices at Madison Correctional Institution

The Ohio Inspector General has issued a report of investigation which began with a complaint alleging two employees obtained jobs at the Madison Correctional Institution because of the improper influence by the institution’s business manager and an assistant to the warden.

The inspector general found no evidence to support the allegation.

The complainant also expressed concerns about Madison Correctional Institution’s use of temporary staffing agencies to find employees for full-time positions.

The investigation found the two temporary staffing agencies used by Madison Correctional Institution held the proper certifications issued by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services to provide the services rendered.

The records also revealed the business manager at Madison Correctional Institution had obtained the necessary approvals from her supervisors to hire temporary employees.
Ohio Inspector General Report of Investigation file number 2012 CA-00003 is now available at: http://watchdog.ohio.gov/Investigations/2012Investigations.aspx
