Ohio governor, Third District congressman agree: Romney clear winner in first debate
Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Third District Rep. Mike Turner agree that their fellow Republican, Gov. Mitt Romney, clearly won the first 2012 presidential debate held in Denver.
“Gov. Romney did a commanding job of spelling out his plans for getting America back on track," Kasich said.
"He was presidential, he was compassionate and he stood in stark contrast to
the president, who didn’t really try to defend his record and instead only lobbed criticism. I thought Gov. Romney was especially strong in his call to create jobs by reducing taxes on small businesses and to streamline our fragmented workforce training programs by giving more authority to the states.

"Ohio is embracing these ideas and our progress is showing America that the ideas Gov. Romney champions are the right ones to get Americans working again.”
In a news release after the debate, Turner said: “Tonight, Mitt Romney showed that he is ready to lead on the issues important to Ohioans – growing jobs, ending the massive deficits, and placing our nation back on a path to fiscal solvency.
"Romney’s pro-growth solutions are ones that Ohio needs in order to get back
to work. For the past four years, the president has failed to lead on these critical issues facing Ohio and the country as a whole.”
Even ultra-liberal filmmaker Michael Moore conceded that Romney won the debate.
"This is what happens when you pick John Kerry as your debate coach," Moore put on his website in criticism of President Obama's performance.
