ODOT crews ready for next winter storm

With another winter storm moving into Ohio tonight, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 are gearing up for the next wave of snow and planning for overnight operations.
Throughout the eight-county district, crews are loading trucks with salt and pre-treating routes with brine in advance of the storm. With a possible accumulation of one to three inches, snow showers are anticipated to begin between 9 p.m. and midnight tonight, and snowplow operators will be ready to hit the state highway system once the snow begins.
Although ODOT crews will be treating and plowing routes as needed, motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution when traveling during inclement weather. Along with reducing their speed, drivers need to allow additional travel time and maintain a safe following distance behind other vehicles.
