The Highland County Agricultural Society, the Highland County Junior Fair Board and the Highland County Junior Fair Sales Committee's new building, which houses the Highland County Junior Fair Board and the Highland County Junior Fair Sales Committee, is shown at the south end of the show arena.

This new building has been in the planning stages for many years. Funds have been set aside for over 50 years in a Junior Fair Improvement Fund to help with the building expansion.

The Junior Fair Board, which works on the planning and implementation of all Junior Fair events, meets year-round to make sure the Junior Fair operates smoothly for Junior Fair exhibitors, volunteers and family members.

The new building will be able to be used year-round and will be big enough to conduct Junior Fair Board meetings. The Junior Fair Board is housed in the lower level.

• Wednesday is "free day" at the fair. There will be no admission charge from 8 a.m.-noon. The midway ride tickets are not included in the "free day."

Market barrow and market goat sales begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The county fair continues through Saturday, Sept. 7.
