Mark your calendars for the Greenfield Lions Club's upcoming community Christmas show

Four years ago, the Greenfield Lions Club undertook a huge project. The club ambitiously sponsored a community Christmas show, “A City Sidewalk Christmas,” under the direction of Susan Long, which played to a capacity crowd in the McClain High School auditorium.

Dozens of Greenfield citizens took part in planning and executing the show as well as participating in it.

Proceeds from the show funded various projects the Lions Club routinely sponsors, including eye screenings for all Greenfield Exempted Village School kindergarten students, the purchase of glasses for those needing assistance, and donations to local projects and charitable organizations.

The Lions Club is presently gearing up to present its second community Christmas Show called “The Village Herald Christmas,” which will be performed Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15 in the McClain High School auditorium.

Susan Long is once again at the helm, directing the show, with assistance from Brad Barber, Pam Fabin, Cindi Pearce, David Weaks, Whitney Beekman and Heather Goddard, as well as the members of the Lions Club.

For anyone interested in participating in the show there is an organizational meeting set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 in the MHS auditorium.

If interested in being a part of the community choir, the house band, stage crew, a member of the costume or make-up crew, dancing, singing or acting (skits), please attend the meeting. The show will include solo and small group acts.

Practice schedules will be distributed at the Sept. 17 meeting. Mrs. Long will provide an overview of the production at that time.
