Lynchburg man sentenced for discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises
A Lynchburg man was sentenced to community control and 30 days in jail recently after pleading guilty to discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises.
As previously reported, Kameron Robinson, 21, was indicted in May and charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony; discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises, a third-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.
Robinson pleaded guilty to the firearm discharge count and forfeiture specification in September, according to court records. The felonious assault charge was dismissed.
For that charge, it is alleged that on or about Feb. 15, Robinson “did discharge a firearm upon or over a public road or highway” — state Route 124 — “and created a substantial risk of physical harm to any person or caused serious physical harm to property.” The rifle allegedly used on that date is subject to forfeiture.
Robinson appeared before Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss for sentencing Nov. 7. Coss ordered Robinson to serve 30 days in the Highland County Jail, as well as three years of community control. Restitution in the amount of $1,000 was already paid, according to the sentencing entry.
