Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reported that his 911 Communication Center received a 911 call Saturday, May 20 from a female on Tatman-Coe Road in McDermott, claiming that her husband had just been shot in the face.
Sheriff Thoroughman stated that deputies, along with emergency medical squads, responded to the location. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim of the shooting, a 23-year-old McDermott man, who had a gunshot wound to the face. Deputies learned that the male suspect had left in a truck.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Southern Ohio Medical Center, then later transported to a trauma center to undergo surgery. He is currently in stable condition.
