HPD, HFD find working meth lab at North High Street fire

The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating a meth lab operation in the basement of a residence at 705 North High Street.

On Dec. 1, HPD was called to the scene of a fire at the residence. The Hillsboro Fire Department discovered the fire had started in the corner of the kitchen, the HPD said. In addition, a syringe and syringe caps were found.

Upon investigation, an active meth lab was located in the basement.

"It was reported that several suspects fled the house once the fire started," the police report said.
