Hillsboro woman sentenced to prison for meth trafficking
A Hillsboro woman charged in two separate drug indictments in a three-month span was sentenced to prison recently.
Stacey Thacker, 48, was indicted in December and charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.
In February, Thacker was one of 12 individuals indicted in connection with a Highland County Task Force investigation, this time charged with nine counts, including six counts of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, one second-degree and five third-degree felonies; and three counts of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, one second-degree and two third-degree felonies.
According to court records, Thacker pleaded guilty in February to the trafficking charge and forfeiture specification in the December case and pleaded guilty to two trafficking counts, one second-degree and one third-degree felony, in the February case.
For the December case, it is alleged that a Highland County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Thacker was a passenger in November 2024. A K9 indicated “that the odor of narcotics was present in the vehicle” during the traffic stop, according to a bill of particulars.
It is alleged that Thacker was “acting extremely nervous” and attempting to block the deputy from checking her clothing. It was eventually determined that Thacker was allegedly concealing 76.72 grams of meth in her clothes.
The charges in the February indictment for which Thacker entered guilty pleas also stemmed from alleged incidents in November. The third-degree felony charge alleged that Thacker “did knowingly sell, or offer to sell, methamphetamine … in an amount that equals or exceeds the bulk amount but is less than five times the bulk amount” on or about Nov. 7.
For the second-degree felony trafficking charges, Thacker is accused of “knowingly selling, or offering to sell, methamphetamine … in an amount that equals or exceeds five times the bulk amount but is less than 50 times the bulk amount” on or about Nov. 8.
Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Thacker to two years in prison on each count, to be served consecutively, for a total of six years in prison. Thacker had jail time credit of 107 days in the December case. Under the Reagan Tokes Law, Thacker could serve up to an additional one year in prison.
The vehicle involved in the December case, which was registered to Thacker, was ordered forfeited to the county. She was also ordered to pay restitution to the Task Force, including $440 alone; $180 joint and several with one co-defendant; and $80 joint and several with a second co-defendant.
Thacker is incarcerated in the Ohio Reformatory for Women, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
