Hillsboro woman sentenced to community control for meth possession
A Hillsboro woman was sentenced to community control Wednesday after pleading guilty to meth possession charges in two separate cases.
Virginia Beall, 48, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in September and charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony. In February, she was indicted again, this time on a third-degree felony count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine.
Beall pleaded guilty to the two charges in March, according to court records.
For the fifth-degree felony charge, a bill of particulars alleges that in March 2024, Greenfield Police officers made a traffic stop on Beall’s vehicle and observed Beall showing “signs of impairment.” Among the items seized from her vehicle was a “small plastic baggie with a white crystalline substance,” which later tested positive for meth.
The third-degree felony case is from another traffic stop, this time in July 2024 in Hillsboro. During that incident, it is alleged that a “crystalline substance” was found in Beall’s purse, with the substance later determined to contain 5.27 grams of meth.
Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Beall to serve three years of community control and to successfully complete an outpatient treatment program and aftercare.
