Hillsboro Uptown Business Association announces 2012 Christmas Parade

The Hillsboro Uptown Business Association would like invite the community to participate in the 2012 Christmas Parade which will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 in uptown Hillsboro.

The theme for this year’s parade is “A Hometown Hero’s Christmas.”

HUBA would like to invite anyone that has a local hero to enter a unit in this year’s parade.

Parade applications are available at Merle Norman Cosmetics, Beechstreet on Main and www.uptownhillsboro.com.

The deadline for a parade entry is Nov. 17. There is no entry fee.

Motor entries must in place at the fairgrounds by noon on the day of the parade. There will be judges, and trophies will be awarded in four categories: Best of Theme, Most Humorous, Best Commercial and Most Original.

The parade will start at the Highland County Fairgrounds and will proceed up West Main Street to North High Street, ending on Catherine Street.

Brian Vance and Alex Butler will be announcing the parade from the corner of West Main and High Street.

Bring your camera for pictures with Santa after the parade at The Colony Theater.
