On June 23, the Hillsboro Police Department received a call at approximately 12:23 p.m. of a two-vehicle crash located at Beech Street and North High Street. Upon arrival, it was found that a 2004 Chevrolet truck driven by Stanley E. Howlett, Jr. of Fayetteville, traveling north on North High Street, failed to stop at a red light. A 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by James J. Jones of Lynchburg, was traveling west on Beech Street through a green light and struck the passenger side of the 2004 Chevrolet truck, causing non-functional damage to both vehicles. On June 24, the Hillsboro Police Department received a call at approximately 9:47 a.m. from Walmart Loss Prevention, referring to a shoplifter. Upon arrival and through the course of investigation, it was found that Dana M. Back, 35, of Greenfield, had in her possession drug abuse instruments and merchandise valued at $63. She was arrested for theft and drug abuse instruments.

Philip R. Berndt, 21, of Portsmouth, DWI, DUI, expired license.
Amy N. Silvers, 22, of Piketon, license forfeiture.
Christopher M. Magee, 36, of Hillsboro, bench warrant.
