On Friday, June 1 at 5:29 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a two-car crash on North High Street near Te-Mar Way. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that Alisha N. Maynard of Hillsboro was southbound on North High St., driving a 2005 Chevrolet. Maynard failed to observe a 1996 Chevrolet driven by Dennis Griffith coming to a complete stop, causing her vehicle to strike the rear of Griffith's vehicle. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles sustained non-functional damage. Maynard was issued a citation for ACDA.
On Saturday, June 2, the Hillsboro Police Department received a complaint stating that Ben Shaw was watching the victim's residence while on vacation. Shaw had a female at the residence and attempted to give her a necklace. She stated she did not want it. They then took the necklace to the pawn shop, and Shaw reportedly kept the money received from the necklace. The female reported she found out the necklace was stolen from the owner of the residence. Benjamin Shaw, 27, was arrested for theft.
At approximately 3:12 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call from Holtfield Station. They advised Levi Krebs went into the restroom, and while he was there, they heard a loud noise. After he left, they found the towel dispenser damaged. Krebs, 21, was arrested for criminal damaging.
At 12:01 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a two-car crash on North High Street near Weastec. Upon the officer's arrival, it was found that Chandra Gilletly of Hillsboro, driving a 2010 Ford, was stopped to make a left turn. Michael Ferguson of Leesburg, driving a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier, failed to stop in time and struck Gilletly's vehicle in the rear. Ferguson's vehicle sustained severe damage, while Gilletly's vehicle sustained non-functional damage. No injuries were reported. Ferguson was issued a citation for ACDA.
[[In-content Ad]]On Monday, June 4 at 2:44 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call from a resident in the 100 block of West Beech Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Upon investigation, it was determined that Jasen Garrison of Peebles was traveling west on West Beech Street when he lost control and went off the right side of the road and struck a parked car. Garrison's vehicle then continued off the roadway and struck the corner of a residence, causing his vehicle to overturn. Garrison was not injured. While speaking with Garrison, officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Garrison has been cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to maintain control.
At 7:56 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Harry Sauner Road and North High Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that Kelly Devine of Hillsboro was traveling east on Harry Sauner Road and was preparing to turn left onto North High Street. Dwayne Taylor of Hillsboro was exiting the Highland Plaza Shopping Center, traveling west onto Harry Sauner Road. Devine turned left and into the path of Taylor's vehicle. Devine was cited for failure to yield when turning left.
