Hillsboro Police Report

On Monday, Dec. 10 at approximately 6:45 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of crash on Danville Pike at the city limits. Upon investigation, it was found Darlene Smith, 53, was westbound on Danville Pike driving a 2001 Saab. Smith stated she swerved to avoid a deer and went off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree stump and came to rest in the ditch. The vehicle was towed, and no injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, at approximately 6:22 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a crash in the 800 block of West Main St. involving a deer. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that Desiree N. Davis, 26, of Hillsboro, was eastbound when a deer jumped into the path of her 2006 Toyota, causing functional damage. The deer then ran into the wooded area just north of the street. No injuries were reported, and a report was taken.

Kaleb Leonard was arrested for a bench warrant.[[In-content Ad]]
