On Tuesday, Nov. 13 at approximately 4:22 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a three-car crash in the 900 block of North High St. with no injuries. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that Brittany M. Inlow, 24, of Hillsboro was operating a 1998 Chevrolet northbound on North High St. when she failed to observe traffic come to a stop in front of her. Inlow's vehicle struck the rear of a 2008 Mercury operated by Linda L. Burnison, 55, of Hillsboro, causing nonfunctional damage to both vehicles. Burnison's vehicle was forced into the rear of a 2000 Pontiac operated by Dewey E. Allen, 25, of Seaman, causing nonfunctional damage to his vehicle. A report was taken, and Inlow was issued a citation for ACDA.
On Nov. 3, the Hillsboro Police Department received a call from the deputy with the Lincoln County, Wash. sheriff's department in reference to fraudulent checks being shipped from Mac Printing Company in Hillsboro. The checkers were being sent via FedEx. Upon making contact with the owner of Mac Printing, Jeff McLaughlin, it was learned that unknown person(s) had stolen Mac Printing's FedEx ID number and was shipping packages from Timonium, Md. to various locations around the country and having ground charges billed back to Mac Printing's account. McLaughlin advised that none of the packages had ever passed through his store but originated from the Maryland location.
On Wednesday, Nov. 14 at approximately 1:06 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of theft at Walmart. Upon the officers' arrival, it was found that Donald P. Singletary, 30, of Hillsboro had entered Walmart at 540 Harry Sauner Road and removed an item valued at $37.64 from a display. Singletary then removed the item from its original packing and concealed the merchandise in his coat pocket. He then exited the store, passing all points of checkout without paying for the item. Singletary was approached by Diane Fox, Wal-Mart loss prevention, then escorted back into the store. Singletary has been charged with theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and was scheduled to appear in Hillsboro Municipal Court.
