On Aug. 30 at 6:42 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a fight on Greystone Drive. Two females were found to have been involved in a physical altercation. After investigation, Penny Fancher, 33, of Hillsboro was arrested for assault. Fancher was taken to the Highland County Justice Center.
On Aug. 29 at 4:12 a.m., the department received a call from a Walmart employee. The employee advised a gun was found inside the store near the game area. Upon officer arrival, a loaded Colt was located on the floor between a game and movie rental machine. The serial number was run through the Law Enforcement Automated Data System and was found to be stolen. This incident is currently under investigation.
On Aug. 28 at 1:43 p.m., the department received a call from Walmart in reference to a theft. Sara R. Musser of Martinsville was arrested for theft. She attempted to leave the store without paying for two cans of Skyline Chili. The property was valued at $6.
On Aug. 30 at 9:24 a.m., the department received a call of a breaking and entering in the 300 block of North East Street. Taken from this location was a Passload framing gun, a Camble Housefield framing gun and a Bostich coil gun. This incident remains under investigation.[[In-content Ad]]
