Hillsboro Police Report

On July 23, Jerrilyn Brown of North Charleston, S.C. was driving a 2001 Ford on Baker Street when she hit the gas instead of the brakes and drove across the 400 block of East Walnut Street and went over an embankment and down the hill into a ditch.

Lori Huebner of Hillsboro, driving a 2002 Jeep, was traveling northbound on North West Street and failed to stop for a 2012 Ford that was stopped in traffic and was being driven by William Hamilton of Hillsboro. Huebner struck the Hamilton vehicle, doing damage. Huebner was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Floyd Cadwallader of Hillsboro reported items were taken from his car while it was parked at Southern State Community College. Some of the property was recovered on Selph Road by a passerby and was returned to the owner. This report is still under investigation by the department.
