A Hillsboro man was sentenced to two and a half years in prison recently after pleading guilty to two drug trafficking charges.

Roy Sluss, 54, was indicted in May on three counts of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, one second-degree and two fourth-degree felonies; and three counts of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, one third-degree and two fifth-degree felonies.

During a hearing June 26, Sluss pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated possession of methamphetamine — one fourth-degree felony and one amended count, lowered from a second-degree to a third-degree felony.

The charges in the indictment stemmed from alleged incidents on June 21, 2022 and June 27, 2022.

Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Sluss to 12 months on the fourth-degree felony charge, consecutive to 18 months on the third-degree felony charges. Sluss had 43 days of jail time credit.

Sluss was also ordered to pay $550 in restitution to the Highland County Task Force.
