Hillsboro man sentenced to community control in weapons case
A Hillsboro man was sentenced recently to community control after pleading guilty to having weapons while under disability.
As previously reported, Justin D. Setty, 52, was indicted in July and charged with having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.
The indictment alleged that Setty “did knowingly acquire, have, carry or use a firearm” on or about April 15, 2025. The weapon, holster and ammunition were listed as subject to forfeiture due to their alleged instrumentality in the commission or facilitation of the offense, the indictment said.
According to the indictment, Setty had “not been relieved from disability” due to a previous domestic violence case in Clinton County.
Setty pleaded guilty to the charges in November, according to court records.
During a Dec. 2 sentencing hearing, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Setty to three years of community control. An additional special condition of sentencing was that Setty was ordered to remain employed. His firearm and ammunition were ordered forfeited to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
