All area departments are invited to participate in these no cost training sessions which provide Continuing Education certificates to help EMT's to maintain their certification.

Fundraisers sponsored by the Highland County Firefighters Association throughout the year, along with community outreach trainings by regional hospitals and EMS transport agencies help to provide area Fire and EMS departments with these free training opportunities.

• In addition, the Hillsboro Fire Department and the Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District held a safety day exercise at the Hillsboro Kmart Oct. 14 for fire prevention week.
