HCSO to conduct high-visibility traffic enforcement for Memorial Day weekend

Effective immediately, deputies from the Highland County Sheriff's Office will be conducting concentrated traffic enforcement throughout the county, cracking down on speeders, aggressive and impaired drivers and enforcing seat belt laws.

With funds provided by the State of Ohio Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Highland County Sheriff's Office will be deploying more than 12 additional deputies to enforce safe driving behavior. The Sheriff's Office aircraft will also be used to spot speeders and aggressive drivers, coordinating deputies and State Highway Patrol troopers on the ground to intercept violators. Law enforcement officers will also be participating in the statewide "Click It Or Ticket" campaign, citing drivers and passengers who do not buckle up.
Sheriff Ron Ward encourages all drivers in Highland County to exercise caution on the road during the upcoming Memorial Day holiday period and to follow the motto "Be safe, buckle up, and arrive alive!"
