A Greenfield woman was sentenced to community control this month after pleading guilty to two drug trafficking counts.

Elizabeth West, 30, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in November on six charges, including three counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and three counts of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, all fifth-degree felonies. The indictment was initially a secret, as she was charged as a result of a Highland County Task Force investigation.

According to court records, West pleaded guilty to two of the trafficking charges in January, with the remaining four charges dismissed. For those counts, the indictment alleged that on or about Feb. 24, 2023 and March 5, 2023, West “did knowingly sell or offer to sell a fentanyl-related compound.”

In a hearing Feb. 14, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced West to serve three years of community control and to successfully complete a treatment program. She was also ordered to pay $180 in restitution to the Highland County Task Force.
