Greenfield woman gets 3 years in Task Force case
A Greenfield woman was sentenced to three years in prison recently after pleading guilty to meth trafficking charges following a Highland County Task Force investigation.
Alissa Jenkins, 22, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in May on one count of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone, a second-degree felony; three counts of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, all third-degree felonies; and two counts of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, both third-degree felonies. The indictment was sealed, remaining secret until September, according to court records.
As previously reported, a Highland County grand jury handed down indictments in connection with Highland County Task Force investigations during their May session.
Jenkins pleaded guilty to the two third-degree felony counts of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine on Oct. 16, according to court records. The remaining four charges were dismissed.
For those two counts, the indictment alleged that on or about Feb. 7 and Feb. 10, Jenkins “did knowingly sell or offer to sell” meth in an amount equal to or exceeding bulk amount but less than five times bulk amount.
After accepting the guilty pleas, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Jenkins to 18 months on each count, for a total of 36 months in prison. She had 32 days of jail time credit.
Jenkins was also ordered to pay $600 in restitution to the Highland County Task Force.
Jenkins was admitted into the Ohio Reformatory for Women on Oct. 29, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
