Greenfield police respond to jewelry burglary

On Oct. 9 at 3:12 p.m., officers responded to a reported burglary of a residence in the 800 block of McClain Ave. where jewelry and other valuables had been taken.
A police K-9 was used to track the suspects from the scene of the burglary to a home in the 1000 block of Spring St. Based on the K-9 indication and other evidence from the scene, officers obtained a search warrant for a residence at 1004 Spring St.

Upon searching the Spring St. residence, officers located items reported stolen from the McClain Ave. home. No persons were found inside the Spring St. residence when officers made entry. Evidence recovered from both scenes will be sent to BCI for forensic analysis, and charges will be filed once the investigation is complete.
