Greenfield PD arrests suspect

The Greenfield Police Department arrested a man Friday after an alleged attempted breaking and entering in the 700 block of McClain Avenue.

The man reportedly showed signs of being intoxicated.

A Greenfield officer and his K-9 were called to the scene at just after 7:30 p.m. to investigate. 

The officer was able to locate the man and witnesses report that, after repeated commands to lie down on the ground, the K-9 unit was deployed to subdue the individual.

After the suspect struggled with the officer, several civilians stepped in to help bring the man under control.

Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District was dispatched to the scene. After checking the suspect for injuries, EMS person released him to the Greenfield Police Department.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office also was called for backup.
