Gordon Mote, Wade Spencer, Katelyne Adams to perform June 1 at Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church
Gordon Mote, 2011 CMA Instrumentalist of the Year and member of the Gaither Homecoming Group and Friends, will perform at a benefit concert for Grace House, a transitional residence facility in Hillsboro, on June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.
Born blind, Mote was raised in Alabama in a Christian family and taught himself to play piano as a young child, according to his website. He spent his childhood and teenage years playing music both in school and in church and studied music in college.
Upon graduation, Mote worked as Lee Greenwood's keyboard player and background vocalist and has also performed with popular country music artists such as Martina McBride, Alan Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood and Porter Wagoner. Mote has earned eight nominations as Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, winning the award in 2009 and 2011.

Mote's first solo album, "If You Could Hear What I See," was nominated for a Dove Award. Since 2006, he has served as pianist for the popular Gaither Homecoming Tour, with legendary songwriters Bill & Gloria Gaither and the Grammy award-winning Gaither Vocal Band, and continues to release solo albums.
In addition, Wade Spencer of The Spencer Family will be performing as will 11-year-old Katelyne Adams, "The Little Girl with the Big Voice."
